The story of The Finery is one of community, resilience and heartfelt ambition. Proudly family-owned and operated, our Alexandra restaurant, bar and function venue was created from a simple but powerful desire: to give back to the place we call home.

When the McLellan family saw a once-loved local building sitting empty and deteriorating, they recognised an opportunity to bring it back to life—not only for themselves, but for the wider community. Their vision was to create a welcoming place where people could gather, connect and celebrate life’s moments, both big and small.

Now proudly in our third year, The Finery has become a much-loved gathering place for locals and visitors to Central Otago. From relaxed family meals and drinks with friends to weddings, functions and milestone celebrations, it is a privilege to be part of the memories being made here.

Join us for a meal in our spacious restaurant, enjoy a drink with the locals at the bar, relax in one of our outdoor areas while the children enjoy the playground, or finish the evening with a nightcap in our intimate Whiskey Room.
